Tricks To Slim Down !!

Breakfast

Eat a heavy breakfast. Needless to say, 'heavy' does not include fried foods. Stick to corn flakes, brown toast, eggs and the like, and you will not feel so hungry at lunchtime. The best and healthiest way to go is to breakfast like a King, lunch like a Queen and dine like a pauper. If you're still confused, we'll translate for you: breakfast should be the heaviest meal of the day. Lunch should be lighter than breakfast, and dinner should be the lightest meal of the day.

Dinner

Try sticking to tasty soups, mixed (baked or boiled) vegetables with mayonnaise, and garlic bread, at night. Not only will you lose weight, but you will also give your much-abused digestive system, a much-needed break.

Green Tea

Did you know that green tea helps you lose weight (Not if you add two spoons of sugar with every cup, though!) Opt for green tea without sugar or milk, but with a dash of lime, and try and drink at least 3 cups a day. In addition to helping you burn calories, green tea is known for its anti-oxidant properties, and thus has great health benefits as well.

Spices

Be generous with sprinklings of spices like garlic, Tabasco sauce and green peppers. They actually increase your body's calorie burning activity by 25%. Could there be an easier way to lose weight
Yes! Surprise, surprise

Sleep

Get enough sleep. If you feel your body has a slow metabolism, getting sufficient sleep is a great way to boost it. This does not mean that you sleep for forty days and forty nights at a stretch and expect to wake up skinny as a bamboo stick! Sorry, but you're just not that lucky. However, if your body is not getting sufficient sleep, it slows down your metabolism. Try and catch eight to nine hours of sleep every night; you will end up burning more calories than you did with just six or seven hours of sleep.

Lights

Did you know that dark rooms tend to make you feel low, and also cause you to overeat And if you are one of those people who tend to eat more when they are unhappy, it's time to lighten up! Brighten your room, liven up the atmosphere - don't live in dingy surroundings. Add some cheer to your home! Bin those 60-watt bulbs and place 100-watt bulbs in your room.

Incentives

Need some cutting edge incentive If you have fat upper arms, get a tattoo high up on your arm. You can then work towards losing weight on your arms to show it off. If you want to lose weight on your belly, pierce your belly button or get a tattoo on your waist, just above where you wear your trousers. You will be aching to flaunt it!

Clothes

Choose your clothes carefully:

    * If you have large hips, wear shoulder pads so your hips look like they are in proportion to your body. Make sure the shoulder pads are not too big, nor are they too prominent. One should not be able to make out that you are wearing them.

    * Don't wear clinging stuff in the hopes that it will make you look thin. Stay away from lycra.

    * Don't wear clothes that are too loose.

    * Steer clear from pleats.

    * Wear one colour from top to toe to give an illusion of slimness.

    * Wear fabrics like chiffon, that skim the body and show your curves, yet hide your fat.

How to Keep Pimples Away Forever ?

    * Never touch your pimples. Continuous touching can spread the bacteria on your face and cause pimples elsewhere.

    * Change the sheets of your bed and pillow regularly. At times, bacteria present on your pillow cover can lead to pimples.

    * Have a lukewarm water bath. Never bathe with piping hot water as it removes the essential oils from your skin. After a bath, pat your skin dry. Never rub it harshly with a towel as you’ll only strip away essential skin cells and make it even drier and prone to infections.

    * Remember, you should never share make up. You never know whose infection might ruin your skin.

    * Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water daily; this helps in flushing out the toxins in your body that cause pimples and other skin problems.

TACKLING THE PIMPLE MENACE
Pimples have a notorious habit of showing up just before that special date or a much-awaited party. It doesn’t matter how great your date is or how lovely the party is, you constantly feel that all eyes are on your face, with a pimple spoiling the show.

Tone, Wash, And Moisturize
Acne is mainly caused by bacteria build-up, so it’s best to use an anti-bacterial face wash. Usually, your dermatologist will recommend a safe product to use. Better still, use fragrance-free face wash that is free of any oils.

Apply an oil free, vitamin E-enriched cream that is useful to heal pimple-prone and ruptured skin. You need to remove the impurities from your face to allow it to breathe. Never forget to use a toner and a face wash daily after returning from outside. An alcohol-free toner is best as it will keep a check on the bacteria on the skin. Use an oil-free sunscreen for your face. But remember, you need very little of it, else the sweat and your oily skin will lead to more pimples.

When A Pimple Strikes
Rule of thumb, never squeeze a pimple as this may cause scarring and infection. Squeezing a pimple reddens the area, causing the bacteria to spread. Instead, every half an hour, apply a cold compress on the pimple. Even if it gives you the chills, hold the ice on the affected area for a couple of minutes. Cold compress does wonders in reducing redness, swelling, and pain. Wash your face at least three times a day with anti-acne soap. Follow it up with an anti-acne cream containing benzyl peroxide. Seek a doctor’s advice before purchasing and applying as overuse of such creams can cause excessive drying of skin.

Hide It
Always go for water-based products as they are lighter on oily skin. Preferably choose a medicated concealer with anti-acne properties. First dab some toner with cotton wool on the pimples. The toner will dry up the excess oil, and then use the concealer. Remember, concealers can be creamy, so use them sparingly. You can spread the concealer with your finger tips, a brush, or cotton wool. Once you have applied the concealer, allow it to dry and use a powder brush to set it. Once done, apply oil-free foundation and compact to complete the picture. Ensure the foundation has a yellow base to reduce the redness of the pimples.

Hottest Makeup Shade

The hottest shade in makeup

Think pink as your re-tool your makeup bag with seasonal eyeliners, lipsticks, blushes and shadows. Glossy or matte, shimmering or flat, pink is definitely in.

Though pink has been a color mainstay in the makeup palette for years (the go-go glitter '70s and the fuschia '80s), this year's pinks are painting a very different picture. They're being brushed, smeared, glided and dabbed-on in a fresh way, with the ultimate artistry yielding a look that's so natural, it looks like you're not wearing makeup at all.

The "What makeup?" look, ironically, is sending makeup mavens hightailing it to their favorite counters for a look that's naturally beautiful.

Looking pretty in pink
Now that pink has unanimously been declared the color of the counters, you need to know how to wear it wisely. Even the slightest wayward wand or careless color choice can transform perfectly-pinched pink cheeks to clown-worthy circles. Just continue repeating this mantra as you apply: "I want to look natural, pretty and polished." It sounds ambitious, but when done right, this season's pinks come across as just that. They're clean and effortless in their simplicity, but sexy and beautiful, too.

Pink can and should be worn monochromatically?there aren't many colors you can wear on your eyes, cheeks and mouth simultaneously. Be careful around your eyes?the wrong color or too much of the right one can leave even the perkiest of us looking tired or hung-over.

Your blush should give you a natural wash of post-exercise color?start your stroke at the apple of your cheek, applying less pressure as you brush diagonally downward.

Handle with care
Stella Mikhail, a makeup artist for Trish McEvoy cosmetics, says pink is the perfect color because everyone can wear it. "You just have to find the shade that's right for you," she cautions. And if you're not sure where to start, her advice should save you plenty of pink-smeared cotton swabs.

If you have fair skin and light hair, Mikhail recommends translucent products with a little shimmer (ahem, not glitter). Naturally-fair skin has a pink undertone that will be enhanced slightly. Women with olive skin can pull off a true pink. Because the pigment will be stronger, Mikhail suggests products more on the matte side.

African-American skin looks beautiful in pink makeup with a blue cast (think mauves) and a warm undertone?it will show up healthily and won't look ashy. Pinky mattes and pink-corals work well on Asian complexions. The best indicator of what works and what doesn't is your mirror?try everything on.

Who's wearing it?
Because this makeup trend is so universally appealing and looks great on everyone, the more appropriate question might be: Who's not wearing it? Glam rockers, the bawdy and gaudy, and '80s purists who can't part with their smoky eyes and fire-engine red lipstick may be the only holdouts.

The very nature of this makeup movement?to look like you're not wearing makeup?makes trendspotting a little trickier than most. We did, however, spy up-to-the-minute celebrities Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger and Jennifer Love Hewitt looking pretty in pink already this season.

Gotta have it
Delux Beauty, a New York City brand carried at high-end boutiques like Chicago's Endo-Exo fabulous array of very wearable pink products, all easily blended and applied with your fingertips. The mistake-proof, stain-free Flush Stick ($30) gives a dewy finish without being messy or sticky, and the lip glosses have a longer-than-average shine ($15).

Bobbi Brown is known for a clean, natural approach to makeup. Stella Mikhail recommends Bobbi Brown's Pale Pink Blush as a universal color. Wear her Lip Tint SPF 15 in Blossom Tint all year long?great glossy texture with just enough healthy color.

You'll find a battery of girlish, pink products at the stila counter at most department stores. One of the most usable products out there: Convertible Color ($28), a gel-based cream blush that can be used on your cheeks, eyes and lips?try it in Lilium, Forget Me Not or Petunia. Their pink Lip Polish in colors like Garish, Glow or Twinkle ($24) is a glassy gloss that has more pigment than Stila's coveted fruit-scented lip glazes.

And, for those of you who are already wondering about the next trend in makeup, you may want to minimize your investment. You'll be tickled pink by Revlon's impressive selection of reasonably-priced products: LipGlide Color Gloss in Pink Lightening, Patent Leather Pink, Cherry Ice ($8.99) and Illuminance Cr?me Shadow (a swatch of four shades of pink, Pink Petals) are good bets that won't break the bank.

Hair Coloring !!!!!!!!

Hair Coloring

Bronze or Blonde
Color has come a long way and we are and Indian women are more willing to experiment now than we were willing to earlier. A head of colored hair, even in the 1980s, drew a lot of attention and appreciates glances. But today, take a quick look around you and you will agree that 80-90 per cent of young college girls and even career women have colored hair. And unless it is crazy color, it is considered normal and acceptable. Should you or shouldn?t color your hair is a question you often ask yourself. Here are a few answers to help you make up your mind about coloring your hair.

Are hair colors safe?
Yes, they are totally safe, in fact most of the colors today have special polymers and conditioners incorporated in them to make them superior to hair colors which were available earlier. These polymers and conditioners actually penetrate the hair shaft and enter the cortex, mending any damage in the normal hair structure. They smoothen the outermost layer of hair that is made up of cuticles, which appear like tiles on a roof under the microscope. The ultimate effect after the use of such a product on your hair would be shinier, smoother and healthier hair. So far there appears to be no connection between the application of hair color and the appearance of gray hair. Hair turns gray due to the inability of hair to produce melanin in the early stages of hair growth.

Melanin is the color pigment in your hair, which can be black, brown, red or yellow. The individuality of your hair color is determined by the percentage of each color pigment, making each person?s hair color characteristically their own. Poor diet, illness, age, heredity, etc can cause the acceleration of grey hair and the actual use of a hair dye has nothing to do with the graying process.

Which color suits you the best is the question you should ask your beautician. Let her know if you had colored or hennaed your hair earlier, the products you used and whether you had straightened or permed your hair. Also have your hair checked out for porosity or elasticity, both of which play a major role in how healthy you hair, will look after the color. Discuss this with her in detail how long the process will take the cost and after care you will require to keep up the effect. You must also take a stand test so that both you and your hairdresser know what to expect at the end of the process.

What are the side effects of coloring?
If a professional taking into account all the above points does coloring, the side effects are almost nil, especially if the client follows the after care recommended. However, it is very important that your hairdresser recommends a patch test in addition to all the points mentioned above, especially with a product you have not used before. This is to check for allergic reaction before carrying out the coloring process. This should be done at least 24-28 hours in advance.

What do you need to maintain the color and the quality of your hair?
Certain fashion colors fade easily and you may need to go back for a rinse once a month, for example, in the case of wine reds, you would need a regular touch up or rinse to maintain their intensity. In the case of gray hair, it would depend on the individual growth rate of hair. On an average, hair grows ?"- ?" every month, so a touch up once in 20 days is a must for gray hair.

For those with no gray hair and a mild color not too different from their natural color, a touch up once in six months is ideal. For those with a drastic or dramatically different hair color, a root touch up is important.

The after care needed is usually a shampoo for color treated hair, which increases the life of your color and conditioners to protect your hair. Too much exposure to sun, sea and chlorine should also be avoided.

Which brand of color should you use?
It is usually best to leave the choice of color to your hairdresser once you have discussed with her what you expect after the color job. The safest home use products now available in the market are by L?Oreal. They have a wide range of products in different shade from which you could choose. For those of you who are allergic to ammonia they have now launched a new product called casting, which is available in a few fashion and basic states. So do go ahead and make a beauty statement with your hair color.
